Elephants of the Asian Forest
Come and see our elephants in their new home!
As well as our herd of 9 Asian Elephants, including two youngsters it is also home to a number of species including hornbills, tree shrews, peafowl, squirrels, fishes and tortoises and has been designed around an Assam forest theme.
Walk around this tropical paradise on a cold winters day and take in the sights and sounds of Assam.
Elephants of the Asian Forest has been designed to enable the zoo to continue its breeding work with its current herd whilst helping educate visitors about the issues facing Asian Elephants in the wild.
The Elephants of the Asian Forest House will be open until 6.30pm / 7.30pm every night, from 16th November 2007 until 13th January 2008.
