Zoo Days, which gives an insight into the highs and lows of life at the 110-acre Zoo, will be screened on Five from Monday November 10.

The Zoo Days series, which features 20, half-hour programmes, was filmed on location at the zoo by Granada Wild.

Ron Trickett, Series Producer, said: "Our production team spent most of the summer filming some of the 7,000 animals at Chester Zoo for this third series.

“The film crew were given unprecedented access and as such were able to capture each story as it unfolded. As with the previous series, there will be highs and lows and tears and laughter as some magnificent stories unfold.”

The first few episodes will take viewers behind the scenes on stories such as young giraffe Margaret’s story of survival, and the introduction between Indian rhino Patna and his new mate Batschii.

Viewers are also in for a treat with the Chimpanzees being given a special breakfast of hard boiled eggs and Realm of the Red Ape, home to the zoo’s Bornean and Sumatran orang-utans, having a makeover.

Zoo Days will be broadcast Monday 10th November to Friday December 5, weekdays at 6.30pm on Five.
