Weddings, Renewal of Vows & Naming Ceremonies

Chester Zoo - The perfect setting for those extra special moments in your life.

The Venue

Just over 100 years ago the Mayor of Chester, Benjamin Chaffers Roberts, rebuilt a charming Victorian mansion on the outskirts of Chester called Oakfield House.

In the early 1930's George Mottershead bought the house, together with the surrounding gardens, and turned it into one of the world's most beautiful and highly acclaimed Zoos.

The Oakfield Manor House, set in 110 acres of award winning zoological gardens and having views of our spectacular animal collection, is a unique venue for weddings, civil partnership ceremonies, renewal of vows, private parties and naming ceremonies. Charming and elegant, our mahogany panelled Terrace Room provides a sophisticated setting for civil weddings, civil partnership ceremonies or renewal of vows.

The Event

A drinks reception on the terrace can follow and with a backdrop of the magnificent gardens and of course our spectacular animals, your photographs will be truly special.

Enjoy a delicious formal dinner or buffet in the Oakfield Restaurant, with seating for up to 60 people, and to finish off that perfect day, an evening buffet reception with disco can be arranged for a minimum of 60 guests (maximum of 120), or for those wanting something a little bit different an evening Safari with barbecue or dinner can be arranged.

Whatever your requirements, our experienced team will be on hand to make your special day as memorable as possible, providing you with first class service throughout.
