CHESTER ZOO is the UK’s NUMBER ONE ZOO, with over 7000 animals and 400 different species, including some of the most endangered species on the planet. With more than one million visitors every year, the Zoo is an all-year round favourite value attraction for everyone! In addition enjoy our landscaped grounds and themed gardens. Some are hidden treasures, like the Sunken Garden and others bring to life the history of the zoo and Chester's Roman Heritage

As a registered charity, Chester Zoo exists to conserve rare and endangered species both in the zoo and in the wild. Our work here extends all over the world and here in Cheshire. By visiting the zoo, you are making a direct contribution to the conservation activity which means that the species you see in the zoo have a much greater chance of survival.
