Mascarenes Conservation Programme

Chester Zoo staff provide technical support in several areas including the hand rearing of threatened birds, horticulture propagation techniques and the development of education programmes.

The programme encompasses conservation projects involving the Mauritius Fody, Mauritius Olive White-eye, Echo Parakeet, Rodrigues Fruit Bat, Pink Pigeon, threatened plants, education and ecotourism and also marine ecosystems, the latter in partnership with Shoals Rodrigues.
