Chester Zoo’s Assam Haathi Project (AHP) received further prestigious DEFRA Darwin Initiative funding in 2010 and as part of the strategy for the next 2 years Evie Astbury (Conservation Researcher) Maggie Esson, (Education Programmes Manager) and Andrea Fidgett (Chester Zoo Nutritionist) all visited Assam in November 2010. In Partnership with EcoSystems-India, the AHP is working to tackle the growing issue of human-elephant conflict across Assam.
