MMU MSc For Students who see a Career in Zoo Management

Manchester Metropolitan University MSc in Zoo Conservation Biology and Conservation Biology with Zoo Studies; partly taught at Chester Zoo.
Behavioural and Environmental Biology has run MSc programmes for twenty-five years and has gained an international reputation for the quality of these programmes.
The Zoo Conservation Biology programme is a development of a longstanding collaboration with Chester Zoo. Both of these postgraduate degrees are based in the Behavioural and Environmental Biology area of the School of Science and the Environment at MMU.
Normally entrants will have a good honours degree in Biology or related subject, though applicants with other degree backgrounds or proven experience and motivation without a degree-level qualification will be welcomed.
The programme includes compulsory core studies in Conservation Biology and Management at Chester Zoo with an additional placement and research project linked to a zoo or animal collection.
The remainder of the MSc is made up of a choice of masters units in conservation biology, animal behaviour, ecology or molecular conservation: many of these can be studied at a distance. Opportunities for experience abroad are also available.
There are intakes in September and January each year and the programme can be studied full-time and completed within one year or part-time over a longer period.
