Click on the links below to find out more about the different KS1 programmes we offer and to find out which is the most appropriate to complement the work you are doing in school.
We recommend early booking for our Discovery Programmes and suggest booking before Easter if you hope to book in for sessions during the summer term.
Me, You and Animals Too!
We always get a reaction when we mention the ‘p’ word as we learn about the seven life processes: moving, eating, breathing, having babies, growing, using senses and pooing!
Your pupils will learn how animals (including themselves) grow and have babies of their own. In our hands-on activities, you’ll have a great time exploring our exciting artefacts – including snake skin, feathers, bones and even jaguar or elephant poo*! (*It’s not real!)

Animal Detectives!
Solve the classification puzzle! Is a fish the same as a zebra? If not, why not? We’ll arm your investigators by talking about the distinguishing features between the five vertebrate groups.
Then your pupils will become detectives as they solve the puzzles, investigating our brilliant artefacts and identifying and classifying the vertebrate groups. Eat your heart out, Sherlock Holmes!

Wanted: Zoo Keepers!
We can’t let them muck out the lions but your pupils will hear all about how we look after our animals at the Zoo. It’s only slightly different to looking after a pet hamster! We’ll tell you how we keep our animals healthy, occupied and sheltered.
That’s no mean task; so many of them have very different needs, as your pupils will find out! Our range of hands-on activities will excite your budding animal keepers of the future!

The Amazing World of Curious Creatures!
The variety of the animal world is just amazing! It moves at different speeds, it’s multi-coloured, it’s multi-sized – it’s mind-blowing! We’ll look at just how curious some creatures are from nocturnal animals - millipedes with … well, lots of legs - to porcupine quills and parrot feathers.
Your pupils will enjoy finding out during our hands-on activities just how unusual some animals are and why their differences help them to survive.
