Secondary Schools

spectactled bear - franka - small 1

For secondary schools we offer a wide range of activities including science, psychology, business studies, leisure and tourism. The Zoo is also a great resource for many other areas and disciplines such as art and geography.

We also have a great new maths trail - see KS3/4 Explorer Programme (self-guided) below.

We offer exciting, interactive classroom sessions (Discovery Programmes) in our Education Centre using our fantastic collection of bio-artefacts and live animals such as Giant Madagascan Hissing Cockroaches and Giant African Land Snails.

Our primate collection provides a wealth of information for psychology study.  As a thriving commercial and conservation organisation, the zoo is an ideal business on which Business Studies, Leisure and Tourism students can base their studies.

Our Discovery Programmes are 50 minutes long and run at four time slots on each week day during term time (10.30, 11.30, 1.00, 2.00).  We have three classrooms and can take up to 20 students in each. We take up to a maximum of 15 students in our out and about sessions.
