Mammalian behaviour

Tailored specifically to fit in with the OCR Biology specification and using audio-visual examples of behaviour likely to be encountered on a visit to Chester Zoo, this session includes:
▪ innate behaviours and reflex actions
▪ the difference between classical and operant conditioning, using the example of health care training in our Asian Elephants
▪ examples of stereotypic behaviours sometimes seen in zoo animals and the reasons that they occur
▪ an in-depth look at intelligence within Great Apes, with specific reference to our orangutans and our large group of chimpanzees
