Business Studies, Leisure and Tourism Discovery Programme
Chester Zoo is an educational charity that attracts over a million visitors a year.
It is the perfect venue for BSLT study and we offer a range of Discovery Programmes specifically for these areas. Our Annual Report is available on line and is a valuable resource for BSLT students. We recommend early booking for our Discovery Programmes and suggest booking before Easter if you hope to book sessions during the summer term.
Click on the links below to find out more about the programmes we offer. Please note that there is considerable overlap between the Visitor Attractions, Marketing and Customer Care presentations. Therefore, only one should be booked for the same group of students.

We regret that we are unable to design and deliver tailor made sessions. Talks are written to particular specifications and we have found that in order to get the most out of the programmes it is not practical to mix GCSE/A' level groups.
We welcome children with special needs. Please notify us of their requirements in advance, so we can tailor our programmes to your pupils' needs. All teaching faciilities and public areas of the Zoo are fully wheelchair accessible.
Teachers' Handbook: Customer Service in Leisure and Tourism
In conjunction with the PGCE Leisure and Tourism department from Liverpool John Moores University we have put together this teachers' resource for students of GCSE Leisure and Tourism, BTEC First Diploma Travel and Tourism and other similar level awards.
This handbook aims to provide a structured teaching and learning programme for teachers and perfectly complements our Business Studies, Leisure and Tourism Customer Care classroom sessions with activities geared to your Zoo visit and in the classroom afterwards.
