Meerkats, Mongoose & Otters
These are some of the most charismatic animals that you will see at the zoo.
Otters can be cute and playful, but in wild they're known as the 'river wolf' because of their razor sharp teeth and muscular body that helps them hunt and eat fish.
Mongooses are also small carnivorous mammals. Despite not being closely related, they look quite similar to weasels, live in similar climates and both burrow underground.
We have two species of otter and four species of mongooses, including the dwarf mongoose and the fascinating meerkats.
