Continue your journey around the ‘plains of Africa’ to catch a glimpse of one of the most endangered predators in the world.

With tall sandy rocks surrounding you as you make your way through this habitat you’ll get a taste of sub-Saharan Africa - a place where you can discover some really impressive wildlife.

When you see a sign for ‘Mkomazi National Park’ you know you’re close to African painted dog territory. As you follow the path round there are a number of opportunities to catch a glimpse of these spectacular pack animals. Step foot inside the Mkomazi conservation field centre and discover even more about these amazing dogs.

This habitat is also home to the cute rock hyrax – a small mammal not much bigger than a guinea pig – and the captivating aardvarks
