Defenders of the Peregrine Falcon!

Despite living on the cliff-face beneath Beeston Castle, the pair of resident Peregrine Falcons have had their eggs stolen on a number of occasions.

Thanks to a hardy band of volunteers though, the Peregrine Falcon Watch has now been set up to help protect the nest day and night during the nesting season.

This means that the Falcon Watch are on duty from March, when the falcons lay their eggs, right through to late June when the chicks leave the nest!
