Safari BBQ evenings
On summer evenings, when the zoo is closed to the general public, we invite you to bring a private party of delegates for a unique evening’s entertainment.
The zoo’s award winning gardens are spectacular in summer and provide a colourful setting for this totally different experience.
At the start of the evening guests will be welcomed to Oakfield Manor with a glass of refreshing summer Pimms or chilled sparkling wine.
Your safari tour guide will meet the party at the Oakfield Manor and escort them on an informative tour of the zoo visiting various animal enclosures and stopping at a selected animal exhibit where guests are able to chat with a keeper.
The evening is completed with a delicious BBQ and, if required desserts or our ice cream cart can be added. At an additional charge a disco can be provided.
A Chester Zoo Safari is a memorable experience and can be designed to fit individual requirements.

Escalope of chicken with lemon and rosemary
Grilled aubergine and haloumi ‘panini’ with tomato pesto (v)
Baked king scallops in the shell with garlic butter
Chocolate and chilli pork steaks
Blackened butternut squash with fennel seeds (v)
Whole barbeque mackerel with lemon, fennel and herbs
Charred sweet potatoes with spring onions and sour cream (v)
Grilled tomato sausage with chorizo and bean stew
Lamb kebabs with cumin, lemon & coriander, sour cream
Citrus scented fillet of salmon
Should you require extra dishes then any of the above can be added at an additional charge of £4 per person

Selection of breads, crostini and bruschetta with hoummous, tapenade and pesto
Baked miniature potatoes with Anglesey sea salt
Charcoal spring onions, red pepper dipping sauce
