The little white dog!

My earliest memory of Chester Zoo was seeing a little white dog in the same enclosure as the lion! It amazed me and I always remember my dad saying they they were good friends!
I also remember the elephant, it was so enormous I never dared to have a ride! There was a jaw bone of a whale too on display, it was near the Bison enclosure.
The entrance and car park was then on Caughall Road.
The bears were the first animals to see on entering they loved scratching their backs on the tree stump!
It was a wonderful place Chester Zoo for us children to see live animals for the first time...
