Whilst I was teaching infants at Neston CP School in Neston I took my children to visit the zoo.
They were very disappointed to find that the elephant house was closed and we were unable to see them.
Something unusual was happening as keepers were rushing about and there was quite a commotion.
I took my group of children right up to the locked door of the elephant house and we peeped through the window.
And there was the tiniest new born baby elephant (later to be names Jubilee)
He was hiding by his mother and surrounded by an admiring group of elephant aunties!
We must have been the first members of the public to see him. The children were thrilled.
