In the summer of 1979, at the end of my second year at university, I got job working as a Waitress in the restaurant in Oakfield House. It was a busy, but very happy summer. The Lion enclosure was just to the side of the building and we could watch the lions through the back door of the waitresses' preparation and washing-up area. I also remember the baby elephant, called Jubilee, a favourite with everyone. It was a great way to spend a summer. I have some very happy memories.
