By Chester Zoo
Chester Zoo welcomed a particularly rare addition in July with the new Banteng Calf. The importance of this arrival was crucial to the species with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) claiming that the species has declined by 95% since the 1960s.
The calf was the third of the species born at the zoo and we look forward to many more with the development of the Banteng paddock as part of the new Islands development coming mid-2015.
