New African Painted Dogs Exhibit

By Chester Zoo

April 2011 saw the opening of our African Painted Dog exhibit! It was opened by conservationist Tony Fitzjohn OBE - who also received the Society’s Gold Medal for more than 40 years of services to wildlife in East Africa.

The new African-themed exhibit features specially-built public viewing windows, a theatre and a bridge. These animals are extinct in 20 African countries and are one of the most endangered predators in the world.
