One of my most memorable moments whilst working at Chester Zoo was whilst I was out in the field in Nigeria. We were on an expedition in Gashaka Gumti National Park. We were searching for Cameroon-Nigeria chimpanzees which are a really important sub-species of chimpanzee and can only be found within Gashaka Gumti National Park. Each evening they build nests to sleep through the night and this particular morning we got up at 4.30am and trekked to where the nests were and waited for them to wake up. This was an amazing moment. It is such a beautiful place with beautiful wildlife.
