Rare Zebra Birth

By Chester Zoo

The Grevy’s Zebra was an exceptional addition to the zoo and was the first of its kind to be born here for 34 years! The birth was a great achievement for the European breeding program that Chester Zoo are part of for this species and is one step closer from removing the Grevy Zebra from the official endangered list, with less than 2,500 thought to be alive in the wild.

That made this birth a great milestone memory in preserving one of the world’s largest and most distinct Zebra species.
