Zoo Vets - The Inside Story

James C - stethascope with bushdog - small - 1

Chester Zoo's vet team looks after all our animals - from the smallest snail to the biggest of elephants. For the first time, visitors can get a glimpse of the life of a vet in a special exhibition in The Joseph Banks Room.

Update:  This exhibition closes on Sunday 22nd Jan, but will return in an online exhibition area soon.

Chester Zoo’s vet team has allowed a glimpse into their day-to-day work through a new exhibit - Zoo Vets - the Inside Story.

Our vet team face different challenges every day and this special exhibit gives a rare glimpse into their work.

Visitors can see high tech equipment used to diagnose, treat and care for the zoo’s 8000 animals, learn about real life case studies, discover how to tell if an Elephant is pregnant and learn how to take a Tiger’s temperature.
