See us in a whole new light this Christmas

We've taken the wraps off our festive treat which will see young and old alike taking an evening trip through the zoo's gardens and past life-sized animal lanterns.

Dominic Strange, our Business Operations Manager, said:

“The zoo is magical during the day but this Christmas we’ll be sprinkling some special extra magic and creating wonderful night time sparkle too.

“Friends and families will be able to take a special journey through the zoo with their own lantern to light the way.

"There’ll also be the chance to make a wish at our giant Cedar wishing tree and, of course, meet up with the main man, Father Christmas himself.

“It’s a completely different experience to anything that the zoo’s done previously and we hope it will light up everyone’s Christmas.”

Fruit Bat Forest will also be open for visitors to explore.

Lantern Magic will run on the following dates:

• Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th November - Preview Evenings
• Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd December
• Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December
• Friday 14th, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th December
• Friday 21st, Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd December

The sessions start every 30 mins from 4pm until 6.30pm. The zoo will close at 8pm.
