Private Tour Gift Voucher FAQs
What does a private tour involve?
You will be met at our experience hub (Guest Services) at your pre booked time by one of our guides. They will then offer you either a general tour of the zoo or give you the option to custom make your tour so you only get to see the things you really want to. Our guides are extremely knowledgeable and are happy to answer all of the questions you may have. Tours will last approximately 90 minutes.
Please note the private tour gift voucher does not include admission into the zoo although a discounted rate is available if booked online at least 24 hours in advance. Alternatively, tickets are available for purchase on the day in the normal way.
How often will tours take place?
Tours will be available daily, both weekdays and weekends.
What do I receive in the post?
The private tour gift voucher comes with its own gift wallet and a gift message ready to use yourself or to give as a present to who ever you wish.
When can the tour vouchers be used?
Private tour gift vouchers can be used once and are valid for up to 6 months from the date of purchase. All tours need to be pre-booked at least four weeks in advance to ensure availability.
Can I get a refund on my voucher?
Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 you have a right to cancel your order and or return an item purchased through the Chester Zoo online shop within 7 (seven) days of delivery for any reason. Chester Zoo will refund your payment card with both the item cost and original posting and packaging cost within a reasonable period of time. Unfortunately Chester Zoo is not able to refund the cost of return postage and packaging. Please note this does not include the right to return personalised items and admission tickets. A refund can only be made to the purchaser on the same card originally used for payment. A refund can not be given once a booking has been made or on extended, expired or exchanged vouchers.
Do I need pre book the tour?
If you have a tour voucher it is essential you pre book a minimum of four weeks before your visit. This is so that we can schedule your guided tour with one of our experience team guides. To pre book your tour all you need to do is call our events team on 01244 650281 and we will sort the rest.
I am a member do I receive discount?
Members and adopters receive a 10% discount on this experience (phone order only).
