What species do you look after? Primates and giant jumping rats

Why did you become a keeper? I’ve always wanted to work with animals especially primates as they are some of the most amazing and I find them really interesting

What’s your favourite animal and why? It’s hard to have a favourite animal as they are all so different with different personalities.

What’s the best part of your job?  Working on a daily basis with some of the most amazing animals on the planet.

What’s been your most memorable moment in your career to date?  There’s are too many to mention but the  birth of an orangutans is always special and finally being able to work with Aye ayes has been fantastic as it’s been my dream to work with this wonderful species since I was a child.

Have you visited any of our conservation projects abroad? I’ve been lucky enough to visit two of our conservation projects. In 2011 I went to Borneo and as the first group to put up bridges for Orangutans to cross rivers.  I also went to Madagascar in January 2016, I lead they primate part of the zoo expedition, we were helping Madagascar Vokajy survey lemurs and we used live mammal traps and camera traps to try and identify Lemur species and small mammal species in the area.
