TOGETHER we can all help to save banteng, babirusa, anoa & Sumatran tiger!

Zoos, governments, conservationists and academics from around the world are joining forces to achieve greater impact through Action Indonesia, a global plan to protect four of Indonesia’s most impressive and threatened species.

Come to the zoo and celebrate the 4th International Action Indonesia Day on Sunday 14 August and join forces with over 60 international organisations working to save these species!

Join the fun and games at the zoo and TAKE ACTION for these amazing Indonesian animals….

 

10am-12pm: Discover Action Indonesia!
Meet the Zoo Rangers at the main entrance (near the Monkey house) to find out all about banteng, babirusa, anoa & Sumatran tiger and what makes them so special at our Action Indonesia artefacts table. Pick up your Action Indonesia collectors cards and colour in your own animal mask!

12pm-2pm Giant Forest board game
Gather your herd and play our giant forest board game at Sumba House, Islands. Discover the challenges banteng, babirusa and anoa face in their wild habitats and find out about the global efforts to save them.

2:15pm Banteng talk
Join our Zoo Ranger and keeper for a talk and Q&A at the banteng habitat, Islands. Find out all about our banteng herd and why zoo herds are so important to the species’ conservation.

2:45pm Anoa talk
Join our Zoo Ranger and keeper for a talk and Q&A at the Anoa habitat, Islands. Find out all about our Anoa, why they are known as the demon of the forest and how we work with conservationists to protect Anoa in the wild.

3:15pm Tiger talk
Join our zoo rangers as they introduce you to a fabulous feline, the Sumatran tiger. Find out about their unique camouflage and stealthy hunting skills and much more.

3:45pm Babirusa talk
Join our Zoo Ranger and keeper for a talk and Q&A at the babirusa habitat, Islands. Find out all about our babirusa, what those impressive tusks are for and how we work with conservationist in Indonesia to protect these amazing animals.
