Join the Zoo Rangers to learn more about our amazing animals and the skills it takes to work in conservation.
Over three days, we’ll be immersed in the world of Chester Zoo with a combination of talks, activities, tours, group work, and more.
A typical holiday course may look like this:
8:30am – drop off
9am – zoo tour before opening
10am – meet a keeper
10:30am – talk in the zoo from an expert e.g. scientist/ conservationist
11am – break
11:30am – activity in the learning centre
12pm – lunch
1pm – introduction to a topic and activities
2:15pm – break
2:30pm – talk in the zoo from an expert e.g. scientist/ conservationist
4pm – pick up
Who is it for? This skills course is for young people in secondary school years 7-9. Young people should be booked into the school year group they are currently in. The school year runs from 1 September – 31 August.
What is included? 3 days of activities. Lunch is not included.
Our Junior Conservationists Holiday Course does not include any hands-on contact with any of the animals in the zoo, or behind-the-scenes access to any keeper areas.
