Junior Ranger Camp – school years 4-6

This time our Junior Ranger Camp will be looking at reptiles and amphibians. Over the 5 sessions, you’ll discover some of the amazing species we have at the zoo and learn all about why it’s so important to protect them from extinction.

You’ll learn what it takes to train a Komodo dragon, how we protect frogs out in the wild, and how we ensure our snakes have the best wellbeing possible!

The training camps run every Sunday for FIVE weeks. You can choose from Sunday morning sessions (10.30am – 12 noon) or Sunday afternoon sessions (2pm – 3.30pm).

Each week we’ll learn all about our reptile and amphibian species, as well as the conservation work we do here at the zoo and in the wild to prevent their extinction. We have lots of fun activities planned!

Please note: to ensure animal and public safety, none of our junior ranger camps include access to behind the scenes areas, and we will not be handling any of the animals that live here at the zoo during the 5 week camp.

Who is it for? Junior Ranger Camps are for Junior Members of Chester Zoo who are in primary school years 4-6. Children should be booked into the school year group they are currently in. The school year runs 1 September – 31 August.

What’s included? 5 sessions of 1.5 hours each. Morning or afternoon sessions are available.

Our Junior Ranger Camps do not include any hands-on contact with any of the animals in the zoo, or behind-the-scenes access to any keeper areas.
