Join us this year for our Wildlife Connections Festival and sleepover!

Get closer to nature than ever before in our 2019 annual Wildlife Connections Festival.

Now in its FOURTH year, we have two jam-packed days with amazing activities that will have you enthralled by the wildlife found right on our doorstep, all set in our stunning Nature Reserve.

This year, get closer to wildlife than ever before with extraordinary performances in the Nature Reserve amphitheatre from storytellers, Yan Tan Tethera on Saturday! Shout “hello” up above to walking trees wandering around the festival field, and join Twigtwisters for some willow weaving fun all weekend!

Delve into all things flora and fauna with interactive storytelling sessions and get hands-on with bird feeder building and other crafty creations. You can relax and enjoy live music from a variety of local acts, or get play the pollination game with our horticulturists! You can even get stuck in to conservation work with our scientists.

Discover the extraordinary world of UK plants and animals that are right under your feet in this weekend full of nature-ific fun!

On Saturday evening, we would love you to join us for a fantastic opportunity for you and your family to camp with us and celebrate our nocturnal UK species.

You’ll have the chance to explore our Nature Reserve at night to see what amazing animals come out at night – like bats and moths!

After a nice hot dinner and some hot chocolate (with marshmallows!), snuggle down for some mystical story telling from the superb Yan Tan Tethra.  For some of our older explorers, you may want to finish the evening with some stargazing and evening bat walks with our wildlife experts.

In the morning we will take you on an early bird tour around the zoo, before the zoo visitors arrive; finishing in our stunning Grade II listed building, The Oakfield, for breakfast.  We’ll round off the morning back in the Nature Reserve for morning activities, exploring some of our day time species.

If you want to carry on the fun then you can join us for day two of our Wildlife Connections Festival which is FREE to attend!
