Join our Zoo Rangers to celebrate World Giraffe Day 2022!

For one day only our usual programme of animal talks will be replaced with fun-filled activities all about giraffes!

You’ll have the chance to hear fascinating facts, listen to exciting stories, look at a life-sized replica of a giraffe skull and learn more about how Chester Zoo works to conserve giraffes both in the zoo and in the wild.

This event is FREE with zoo admission.



Meet Geoffrey the Giraffe

Come and meet Geoffrey the giraffe and find out more about all the fun activities happening around the zoo for World Giraffe Day!

Discover Giraffes

How tall is a giraffe? Why do they have such a long tongue? Come along to find out and discover more about these amazing species! Join us before 2:30pm to enter our exciting World Giraffe Day competition.

Giraffe Talk

Why do giraffes have long necks? How does this help them in their Savannah habitat? Join us to find out more about these unusual creatures.

Giraffe Story Expedition

Gerry has lost his family. Can you help him find his way home? Join us for an expedition across Africa!

How do we track giraffes in the wild? Come and help us find Geoffrey the giraffe and learn more about giraffe conservation!
