Join our Zoo Rangers to find out more about Conservation Technology Technology is incredibly important to the work that we do.

Join us over three days for an exciting introduction into some of this technology and how we use it at the zoo. Our experts will demonstrate some of the amazing tools used across the globe in our field programme sites and you’ll have the opportunity to get hands on with the technology that monitors the wildlife that visits the zoo.

You’ll also learn about the incredible conservation projects that we support around the globe, and how technology is a vital part of our work to prevent extinction.

A typical skills course may look like this (please note topics, timings and locations may vary):

10:30am – drop off at our learning space
10:45am – introduction to topic
11:00am – activity out in the zoo
11:30am – talk on how to develop skills
11:45am – out in the zoo practicing specific skills
12:15pm – final questions and feedback
12:30pm – pick up

Who is it for? This skills course is for young people in secondary school years 7-9. Young people should be booked into the school year group they are currently in. The school year runs from 1 September – 31 August.

What is included? 3 x morning sessions at the zoo (10.30am-12.30pm). Lunch is not included.

 

Our Junior Skills Courses do not include any hands-on contact with any of the animals in the zoo, or behind-the-scenes access to any keeper areas.
