Molly provided elephant rides for visitors throughout the summer months, which proved very popular. And throughout winter she was kept in her stable. In 1949 a 20 year old Asian elephant joined the zoo as a companion for Molly, who also soon joined her giving rides around the zoo. Molly sadly passed away in 1955.
