Humbolt Penguin Hatch

By Chester Zoo

After brilliant work and care from our keepers a clutch of penguins hatched pushing the Chester Zoo colony up to 35. Although after naming the first of the chicks Rooney (after England footballer Wayne) it did little to help England reach success in the 2014 World Cup.

However, the news was still great for us here at Chester Zoo who not only looks after them here but also importantly through conservation projects in their South American homeland.
