Sumatran tigers Fabi and Kirana wake from their slumber in their den as mum Kirana gives birth to the first of two cubs.

The video is from our CCTV cameras used to monitor the tigers in their den. You can see the cub appear at around 30 seconds into the video.

You may see glimpses of the cubs in their enclosure, sticking close to mum Kirana. As soon as we have photos we will share them with you.

With numbers in the wild believed to be as few as just 300-400, Sumatran tigers are classed by conservationists as critically endangered.

The arrival of these two latest cubs is therefore vital to the ongoing survival of the species.
