The team of 20 all ran the 10km (6.2miles) to raise awareness of critically endangered species in southeast Asia – with some even dressing up as animals themselves.

Amongst those in rhino, ape and reptile suits was Herpetology Keeper Ruth Smith, who completed the event dressed as a turtle.

“Running in a turtle costume was a little hot and sweaty and my shell might have affected my balance! But the crowds pushed me on and it was well worth it in order to raise funds and awareness for these incredible, but highly endangered species,” said Ruth.
