The new exhibit, named the Mkomazi National Park Painted Dogs Conserve, was opened by top conservationist Tony Fitzjohn OBE on 6th April 2011.

The seven dogs have arrived from Sweden and the males have all been given names through competitions. Fans of our Facebook page chose Azizi, Badrani, Diallo, Gamba whilst pupils from Ysgol Melyd in Meliden, near Prestatyn chose the name Ochi.

Guests who attended the opening were also entertained by children from Upton Heath Primary School who sang to them in Swahili.
