We have less than 15 paying guests but ‘Carer’ and/or ‘2 & Under’ tickets take the total number of people to more than 15, how do we make a booking?

Our group booking discounts are available to groups of 15 or more paying guests. As carers and children aged 2 & under receive free tickets they are not included in the discount. If you’d like to make a booking for more than 15 people but less than 15 paying guests please email guest.services@chesterzoo.org or call 01244 380280.

Can we split the cost of the booking?

Group bookings must be paid for in full in one transaction and we can’t provide you with separate payments or booking references for people within your group.

Do we have to book in advance?

Yes, we are unable to offer a group discount to guests who arrive on the day without a booking.

We are travelling to the zoo separately, do we all need to enter the zoo at the same time?

Guests visiting as a group need to arrive at the same time and enter the zoo together, if you are arriving in separate vehicles you should wait for all members of your group to arrive before entering the Zoo. You’ll find lots to do at the Main Entrance while you wait, including, shopping in our Main Shop, grabbing a drink in Bembe Coffee Shop, visiting the Elephant House and viewing the rhinos.

Someone in my group now can’t make the date we have booked, can they visit on a different date or can I change the date of the booking?

Group bookings are none transferable and none refundable and so we are unable to change your visit date once payment has been made. The group discount is only available to people visiting on the same day and so we are unable to move tickets for individual people to a different date.

Can we pre-book a table in one of your onsite restaurants?

We currently only allow table bookings in The Oakfield. Please note that you will still need to purchase your group admission tickets if you book a table at The Oakfield. Book a table now.

Do you offer familiarisation visits?

Bookings for an organisation, business or charity are able to book a free familiarisation visit by emailing groups@chesterzoo.org. To book a familiarisation visit you must have a group booking reference number and have paid for your group’s booking in full or provided a Purchase Order Number.

Do group bookers need to complete a risk assessment? What are your health & safety procedures?

You do not need to complete a risk assessment in order to visit Chester Zoo as a group, however we understand that group bookers from some organisations, businesses and charity groups do require one for their own records.

As well as offering a free familiarisation visit to enable you to assess our site in advance of your group’s arrival, we can also provide copies of our Public Liability Insurance and our Health & Safety for Groups document to help you complete your risk assessment should you need one. Email groups@chesterzoo.org for more information.

Where can we park?

Parking at Chester Zoo is free of charge and we have dedicated spaces for coaches and minibuses.
