Join our animal experts for this incredible opportunity to meet our Red Pandas and learn all about these asian mammals up close.
Step inside the red panda habitat and get up close to this unique and endangered species!
Red pandas are cautious by nature and this experience offers you the chance to meet this enigmatic species in their own environment and get an insight into being a red panda keeper.
You will also have an amazing opportunity to ask our animal experts any questions about this fascinating and loveable species, the work of our keepers and the incredible work our teams are doing to protect this species from extinction.

Your experience
Will last approximately 45 mins with approximately 20 mins spent with the animals.
The chance to meet our red pandas and see inside their den.
The opportunity to learn about these inquisitive animals and ask our keepers any questions you may have.

Terms and conditions
Experience includes admission for the participant only. An accompanying adult must pay admission which will need to be purchased separately, or have a vaild membership.
The Experience is available for adults and children over the age of 11 years old; however children between the ages of 11 to 15 years old must be accompanied into the zoo by a spectating parent or guardian paying normal zoo admission (1 adult per 1 child).
Regrettably certain guests will be unable to take part including people with epilepsy; relevant phobias or known allergies; mobility issues, pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals.
Whilst every effort is made to accommodate those with a disability or learning difficulty, due to practicality and health and safety this cannot always be achieved – contact Chester Zoo before purchasing.

COVID safety requirements
Face masks are mandatory for all participants even those who are medically exempt. All participants MUST wear a dark coloured face mask.
All guests’ hands must be washed/sanitised prior to starting and after an experience.
All guests within proximity to our animals must also wear protective gloves which shall be provided.
Social distancing must always be adhered to by guests when in proximity of staff and other guests.
Limited capacities have been introduced to all experiences to ensure social distancing can be maintained for the safety of our animals, visitors and staff.
Unfortunately the keepers will be unable to take photographs for you during the experience with your own devices, but when the keepers say it is safe to do so you are more than welcome to take some yourself.
