Well done in joining us on our journey towards sustainability! Can you carry on working towards becoming more sustainable over the next 12 months?
Step 1: Choose which dates are important to your calendar
We’ve put some suggestions below to help you get started, but you may want to include events such as birthdays, school trips, school fetes or family celebrations as well.

Step 2: Come up with ideas to prevent waste
Now go through each of the events you have chosen and think about how you can make it more sustainable.
If there are school events can you talk to the people organising them (such as teachers or the PTA) and plan ahead and ensure you are using sustainable resources?
Step 3: Communicate your plans
Why not think about how you are going to present your ideas to other people? Could you share your ideas with the PTA and create a school calendar? You could arrange to share your top tips on the school webpage. The possibilities are endless!

We have created a Love it for Longer Virtual Workshop to complement this programme. The session delves a little deeper into the topics covered in the Love it for Longer packs and work that is going on at Chester Zoo. We have designed this interactive session to fit in at any stage of the programme.
We also have our 25 minute Ask Chester Zoo workshops that are perfect to give your pupils the opportunity to ask any questions to us that may arise during the course of your Love it for Longer project.
