Using our exclusive resources and step by step guides, you’ll travel around the world with your students to encounter different rainforests and species. Your pupils will gain an understanding of what it’s like to work in the rainforest as well as a few useful life skills. Our playful approach using games and code breaking makes learning about the rainforests really fun for everyone.

Designed for KS2, many of the resources are adaptable to other age groups. It can be run across 5 days to create ‘Around the world in 5 rainforests (in 5 days)’ or you might choose to explore one rainforest each week over 5 weeks.
SOUTH AMERICA
Start the rainforest adventure in the rainforests of South America. Your learners will learn about what equipment needed for a rainforest adventure, discover the sounds they might hear in the different layers of the rainforest and explore species like sloths and poison dart frogs.
SOUTH EAST ASIA
It’s time to get your binoculars out and discover some amazing songbirds of South East Asia. It also is an opportunity to delve into our Sustainable Palm Oil resources and even try out some animal themed recipes.
AFRICA
In the rainforests of Africa you’ll find chimpanzees and lots of resources to help understand their behaviours. Your pupils will also get the chance to do some creative thinking and creative writing by exploring adaptations.
MADAGASCAR
Madagascar is an amazing island with lots of unique, endemic species like lemurs but there are lots of issues with deforestation. Your pupils will get to learn all about why the rainforest is important not just for animals but for humans too.
CHESTER ZOO – VIRTUAL ZOO DAY – RAINFOREST SPECIAL
At Chester Zoo we have loads of rainforest species to see. Come with us on a Virtual Zoo Day around the zoo to see just some of them. The videos include Sun bears, fantastic frogs, Red-ruffed lemurs and lots of tropical birds all being cared for at the zoo.
Your learners should also have worked out the code to unlock the secret part of our website and complete the mission.
