In November 2021 the UK Government is hosting the UN Climate Change Conference – COP26. This year’s conference of the parties promises to be an historic moment, defining the course of political action to address the climate and biodiversity crisis facing our planet. This is a something that is already of great concern for many young people so schools and the education sector have a unique opportunity to play an important role in the legacy of COP26.
We are at a pivotal point in the fight against the climate and biodiversity crisis. We want to empower the next generation of conservationists and are providing a collection of learning resources to support educators to discuss the key concepts and messages during the conference and beyond.
Deforestation and Climate Change
Often referred to as the “lungs of the earth”, rainforests have a huge role in storing carbon and mitigating climate change.
Living more sustainably
During the summer of 2021, in the run up to COP26 we have been celebrating sustainability at the zoo. We’ve created these activities to help your pupils learn about sustainability.
