At the zoo
Length of workshop 90 mins
Discover how we design animal exhibits at Chester Zoo, and give your students the opportunity to design their own exhibit.
Including a tour of the Sun bear habitat on Islands, this 90 minute workshop explores how new exhibits are planned and designed at the zoo. We’ll explore how we need to meet legislative requirements and human safety needs when planning, as well as meeting the highest animal welfare standards. Students will have the opportunity to design an animal exhibit, incorporating the knowledge they have gained during the workshop. Finally, we’ll go to the Sun bear exhibit to explore and discuss all the design elements of this amazing habitat.
