Challenges
Large areas of land are rich in minerals and raw materials and are highly suitable for agriculture and forestry, meaning huge areas of land are cleared for these purposes.
High levels of social and economic inequality, as well as corruption and poor law enforcement means that implementing measures to protect nature can be challenging.
The region is highly susceptible to climate change. A great risk in years to come if nothing is done to tackle this issue globally.
Our Efforts

We support crucial alternative livelihood projects that reduce conflict between humans and Andean bears in Bolivia.
