British Science Week

9-17 March 2019

To celebrate British Science Week, our team of experts will be running lots of special events and activities throughout the week for all visitors.

Want to discover how we use science to help us look after rare and endangered animals in the zoo and in the wild? Take part in some citizen science? How about inspiring your students to become the next generation of conservation scientists?

Our teams will be in the zoo giving science demos with equipment and artefacts to show how we use science day to day in the zoo. This year we are focusing on reptiles and the science behind their enclosure design, the importance of studying animal behaviour and poo science! We will also be taking a look at some of the exciting careers at the zoo!

We also offer loads of science focused workshops which can be added to your visit for just £28 per session. Find all the information on our sessions here and take a look at our free science resources and activities that we've created for British Science Week here.
