 Sustainability in Food & Beverage

Along with our conservation efforts, we at Chester Zoo always try to be sustainable. After all, the future depends on the little bits we do today, and our Food & Beverage team know that every effort counts.
We always keep this in mind when we make decisions about Food & Beverages at Chester Zoo. Our whole supply chain begins with sourcing food that meets sustainable and welfare standards. These key accreditations make sure that the food supplied meets the expectations of our guests and looks after animal wellbeing and the environment:

Food For Life: We share their ethos of healthy and sustainable food. Preparing our meals from scratch gives us more control over what goes into our food.
RSPO: We work closely with RSPO to promote the growth and use of sustainable palm oil products.
Red Tractor: Our meat and milk is Red Tractor Accredited – meaning its British and fully traceable back to the farm.
MSC: We proudly support the MSC’s efforts to protect oceans and safeguard seafood supplies for the future. All fish on our menu meets sustainable fishing standards and is traceable.

If you would like any more information regarding dietary requirements, accessibility or any other aspect of dining at Chester Zoo, please do get in touch with us with your enquiry, or telephone our Guest Services team on 01244 380280.
