For the first time EVER, we’re giving you the chance to spend an enchanting evening exploring everything that Chester Zoo has to offer!
Join us after hours for our exclusive Into the Night evenings from 4pm – 8pm. There’ll be delicious themed food and drink available to buy, all while you watch thrilling entertainment and see your favourite animals.

Have you ever wondered what an elephant’s evening routine looks like, or how a cheetah chills out after a long day? How about what it’s like to sail the Lazy River as the sun starts to set? Now’s YOUR CHANCE to find out! Into the Night is our first evening event where the FULL zoo will be open.
As well as exploring everything there is to do at Chester Zoo, Into the Night brings you loads of other evening extras. You’ll find BRAND NEW food and drink, and exhilarating entertainment.
From kebabs and picnic boxes to Indonesian noodles, there’ll be lots of tasty food on sale, freshly prepared and THEMED especially for this event. Available for a LIMITED time only.
Quench your thirst with one of our gin sorbet cocktails, made from our very own Chester Zoo gin, infused with hand-picked ingredients from right here at the zoo!
We’ve got some amazing entertainers lined up to surprise and inspire you as you explore Into The Night. Spice up your life with the vibrant costumes and playful puppeteers of Global Grooves, discover the magical Annapurna Indian Dancers and their colourful traditional performances, marvel at the aerial escapades of the Tanzanian Acrobats, or watch in awe at the talented Butterfly & Zebra Stilt Puppeteers!

I’m a member, do I get discounted tickets?
As this is a special event outside of our usual opening hours members and non-members pay the same price. Events like Into The Night help us to raise valuable funds to enable Chester Zoo to continue to invest in our mission and the zoo. We really appreciate your support.
What are the parking arrangements?
There is ample FREE parking at the main entrance to the zoo.
What is the best way to get to Chester Zoo?
You can find all the directions and options to the zoo here.
Which parts of the zoo will be open?
ALL of it! Into The Night is the first time we’ve ever offered unlimited access to the zoo after hours. That means all your favourite parts of the zoo will be open, including animal habitats, indoor areas and restaurants.
All animal houses and our Lazy River Boat Trip will close at 7pm on September’s event evening.

We will be running four Into The Night events this summer:
Friday 29 & Saturday 30 July – SOLD OUT

Tickets are limited, and this page will be updated if any of the dates sell out.
What are the opening and closing times for this event?
September Into The Night evenings will start at 4pm and finish at 8pm.
If you’re visiting the zoo during the day you’ll need to go back to the main entrance at 4pm to collect your wristband. Remember, you’ll need to bring your separate Into The Night booking with you to re-enter the zoo. Please ensure you have bought a separate zoo admission ticket, or you have a valid member’s card if you want to visit during the day – your Into The Night ticket will only grant access for the evening event.
Do I have to book a time slot?
Into The Night does not operate on a time slot basis. Your ticket will allow you entry into the event from 4pm onwards. Please note, final entry will be at 6:30pm for September’s event.

How much are tickets?
Into The Night costs £15 for adults and £10 for children.
Children under the age of 2 years old and carers come free, but please remember to book them a ticket. If you’re visiting with a free carer please bring proof of entitlement with you when you visit. This can be a PIP Letter or Blue Badge. Thanks!
How will I receive tickets?
If you book online then you’ll receive an email from us with your booking confirmation attached. Bring this booking confirmation with you on the evening of your visit to get entry to the zoo for Into The Night.
Can I bring my own food?
We’ll have lots of delicious food and drink options available to buy on the night but you are more than welcome to bring your own if you would prefer to.
We just ask that you don’t bring any alcohol to the zoo with you.
