UK pine marten recovery programme: Impact of translocation strategies
Field-based Conservation Scholar Project
David Bavin, University of Exeter & Vincent Wildlife Trust
I'm aiming to evaluate some of the physiological, behavioural and environmental factors affecting translocation success.
This will involve tracking the fate of Pine Martens for up to one year after release, monitoring movements, territory establishment, breeding, detectability, and testing our modelled predictions of habitat use and landscape permeability against field data.
I will also be investigating social perceptions towards this type of work and the pine marten specifically.
