Data analysis for zoo professionals: A workshop for beginners
We will be using two pieces of software:
Microsoft Excel serves as a useful tool for handling and analysing data and many introductory studies will use Excel as a way of doing quick but effective analysis. We will cover:
- Mean, Mode, Median
- Error Bars
- Standard Deviation
- TTests
- Pearson’s Correlation
Jamovi is an open statistical piece of software which can be freely downloaded to your PC, this is actually based on R but is a much friendlier and accessible software to use for more complex studies than Excel allows. We will cover:
- Data organisation
- TTests
- Correlation and regression
Anyone joining will need a laptop and Jamovi preinstalled. Instructions will be sent before the course to help you.
