Education Entry Rate
Workshops
Our workshops are priced at £2 per child, with the price also admitting one accompanying adult to the workshop. Workshops last approximately 45 minutes, and are an amazing opportunity to learn about a particular topic from our expert education staff, handle artefacts and ask questions.
For non-members, you will be able to add a workshop (subject to availability when you book your ticket to the zoo.)

African Animals and food chains
Age Range: 5 to 7 years old
Time: 10:30
Duration: Approximately 45 minutes
Location: Conservation Education Hub
Cost: £2 per child (ticket to the workshop includes 1x adult admission)
Through storytelling and exploring artefacts, we will discover lots of African species. Find out what mole-rats eat? Why does a vulture need a hooked beak to eat? How can we tell what an animal eats just by looking at their amazing adaptations? All these questions will be answered as you learn about our animals’ diet.
Climate change and sustainability
Age Range: 11 to 14 years old
Time: 11:45
Duration: Approximately 45 minutes
Location: Conservation Education Hub
Cost: £2 per child (ticket to the workshop includes 1x adult admission)
What causes climate change? How can young people today make a difference and lower their carbon footprint? Learning about climate change can seem daunting and difficult. We will break it down and use Lego and artefacts to break it down into manageable chunks.
Rainforest
Age Range: 7 to 11
Time: 13:30
Duration: Approximately 45 minutes
Location: Conservation Education Hub
Cost: £2 per child (ticket to the workshop includes 1x adult admission)
Put your investigation skills to the test as you work through questions to discover the rainforest. Through examining artefacts, you’ll learn about classification, adaptations, lifecycles and food chains and more!
Join us for a fun packed session which will help you understand why the rainforest is so important and how we can help protect it.
Meet ups at animal habitats
Our meet ups are an informal chance to meet our education staff at animal habitats to learn about our animals and to ask us questions.

Meet us at the education hub for a chat about how we classify animals. Our educators will be on hand to answer questions and explain more. We will have a range of artefacts and models to show the unique qualities of our species. This is also an ideal opportunity for your young people to be curious and discover how the zoo is helping some of these wonderful species
